It's strange that some of you have all these problems and fails. I actually experienced the contrary. 8 days through and I lost only 2 challenges.
I have to say that I play it safe: all turns at 90% or more. I can reach turn 7, if the total turns are 9 or 10.
I open two royal boxes a day, so I am gonna make it for the final prize. While to collect enough cookies is super easy, I'll finish that part of the prize in another 2-3 days. Don't run special events or use cupcakes for cookies: you collect enough of them during the challenges.
- 6 years ago@kg122cin3h6t Well I'm happy for you. What the problem this time seems to be on the first round where it's at 90% and you fail. There's been times where I am at 95% and still fail. Maybe it doesn't happen in your game but it happens to a lot of people. We're all trying to get that grand prize.
- 6 years ago@givememore86 Yeah, I just came out of failing a round 1 90%, paid the cash so I wouldn't have to wait 8 more hours, and immediately failed again round 2 92%. And with these being the only way to get enough royals, that makes it exceptionally frustrating to keep failing with 0 consolation. Maybe if the consolation prizes were higher or included some refund of what we spent only to fail out, it wouldn't suck as much. I've spent over 100k simoleons and I can't afford to get cash and cupcakes.
- 6 years ago@Immichan in reality I failed the Bake Off about 12 times in total. Most of them because of the first round. They definitely made it tougher this time. It's really hard to gauge how much of a percentage we need.

Ok, so I've been silent about this new sweet treat event but I'm making some observations today.
- I lost 14 out of 30 showdowns.
- I spent around 50,000-60,000 simoleons.
- I spent around 50-60 sim cash.
- I'm dreading playing showdowns.
- I may lose interest in continuing playing TSM if this continues & focus more on my other games (like BTS WORLD, Hi Armies!!! :-)
- Thanks for listening to my TED Talk.

I am really sorry to hear that many of you are experiencing so many fails.
Yesterday and today it happened to me too to lose two games in the first couple of rounds. One at 88% and the other at at 93% (weird).
But considering the total days that I played, the fail rate has decreased for me. Bad that it's not the same for all players. :-(
- 6 years agoSince the previous Sweet treat events, I’ve been extremely careful with the bake offs. I tend to not use any cubes or resources on the first two levels so that if it fails it’s only 5-10 Simcash. I make sure that I’m at 94% minimum then quit around level 6-8 depending on the number of levels.

I think the show down for this event is definitely designed for you to spend Sim cash and resources. But it’s definitely doable if you are careful and have time.
On the plus side, I love the animation of the ‘bat nap’ and the hair style looks gorgeous on my sim.
Good luck to everyone still completing this event!
- 6 years ago@dissenterjasmine I can't believe you've used that many coins lol! I don't use any, I go and collect them all to make money ha ha I don't use cupcakes either. most I use is sim cash if I fail the round or to have another crack at the event. I've won the grand prize, and still had two days left, I reckon You would be fine

@JustJazzy81Grats 😊
Nice sim 😊 she is absoluty a vampire. Lol 😍
Ye i also won this grand price...glad that i got it..it is epic...
But i really do think the most will not get it...
Sadly..because its pretty cool this time.
like i told before..they really need to make it more fun.
It is no fun..it is pure stress..and you have to spend a bit money on it..and a lot of time then still.
It is like a fight in every sweet treat event...
And that is the most annoying point..it is not my problem to spend a bit cash if it is not to much...i like to support the game.
It keeps alive with payment.
But i do not want to get rpped off and i do not want a baking fight every time..lol..
Well let us wait and see if it gets better..it went a bit better but still not happy with it.
I want fun fun fun..and i am looking forward for the harvest fest..i think it also will come back..rerun...

So, I was able to reach the needed treats to be able to open all the boxes with 2 days to spare but only because I had to spend (still A LOT of) sim cash & simoleons. Though, in fairness, this time around, the resources spent was less compared to previous showdowns.
I read others didn't spend much or none at all?!? I'm not sure that would've given you the needed number of tokens. Please correct me if someone was able to do it with no spending of resources esp. sim cash. Coz in my game I was forced to spend sim cash almost every time I fail the first part of a showdown usually at 90%. And also happens mid parts of the showdown when I'm at 91% or 92%. So sim cash is really gonna be spent for the showdowns.
Take for the case of the royal ones, reaching L6 or L7 only gives like 4, 5 or 6 treats. And this still depends on the type of showdown if it's 7-9-or-10 parts. And to complete 240 is needed. To be able to surely get the needed royal tickets, each showdown is a must to be won by reaching L6 or L7. So, spending sim cash can't be avoided.
The clothes & furniture are cool. Good luck to those still playing & hope you get the items you want.

@dissenterjasmineso what I did, if I failed at later levels, I would quit and collect, then pay 30 sim cash to start the event again. it's cheaper to do it this way, or fail early rounds, as you don't pay a much sim cash. I never bother paying 150 or whatever silly amount is to play on. not worth it. just start the round again and pay less, if you get me 😊
I've never used coins. or cupcakes. only small amounts of sim cash by doing this method.

I've got my tokens also collected 2 days before the end of the showdown, so I'll be getting my grand prize and napping in it until Christmas. :D
Compared to the Catwalk Fabulous Showdown, this Treatsylvania Haunt Showdown was more demanding for me. And given the fact that none of these Showdowns are piece of cake. 😛 For the first 2 Showdowns (Country Living and Charming Gardens) I did not get the grand prizes, since at that point I'd only played SimsMobile for few months and didn't have resources.
Treatsylvania Haunt statistics from my game:
- 7 round challenges: 18
- 9 round challenges: 15
- 10 round challenges: 8
- 200 000 Simoleons spent, 10 SimCash & 23 cupcakes.
- 3 challenges with all rounds cleared, and one of them was the 5 round "tutorial" in the start
- 11 burned desserts
- My daily average of Royal Tokens received from challenges were around 12,5
- After getting burned 5 challenges in a row in the beginning of the challenge, I tried to play extremely carefully and that meant spending simoleons. I also bought Royal tokens if they were available to buy with Simoleons.
Comparison to my Catwalk fabulous Showdown:
- 7 round challenges: 11
- 9 round challenges: 10
- 10 round challenges: 9
- 95 500 Simoleons spent, 85 SimCash & 24 cupcakes
- 7 challenges with all rounds cleared
- 9 burned desserts
- Daily average of Royal Tokens received from challenges around 18
Sweet Treat Showdowns in general:
- I love the setting in Parkside and the decorations, it looks really good. The coffin was nice touch for Halloween
- I have insta account for my Sims and I really like all the different cakes and desserts and I was eager to get to bake them all and post pics to "Simstagram" but there hasn't been any new pastries or baking actions
- calculating the odds&sugarcubes and the constant uncertainty of winning ANY tokens sucks the fun out of baking. Getting tokens from challenges is too uncertain and require resources. I don't like to worry my challenge tactics 2 weeks straight
- Tokens from the FlavorLab and Pastry Class are minimal.. better chance of getting the Sweet tokens from quick events but that requires quite a lot of time spent in the game
- All the color options being in their separate boxes.. frustrating to open +50 boxes with just the colors. This time I got "lucky" and got one of each item in the first 30 boxes.
All the negative things started to outweigh all the good things I liked .. It's too stressful and I find myself being unhappy with the game experience. ☹️ Motivation of doing next Showdown is zero.. and I don't want my game instagram feed to be constant rant about burning cakes. 😛
I'm going to do few challenges before I collect my grand prize, just to get some simoleons back or jewels..
Hoping everyone good or at least better times with the game! 🙂
On a side note: I really liked the Halloween Haunt event which was before this showdown since it gave me time to actually breathe, gather resources, start new career and clear one piece of land. And still I got some really great prizes, fun pics and moments with all the Halloween decorations and outfits.

@dissenterjasmineHello! I agree to this! I do not think it is possible to make it without spending cash for it.
And yes...it is less money then before...idk how much you had to spend but i did not need a lot of simcash for it because i had luck on playing with risk.
Won a lot of royal tokens with only 50 %..
Well but that was risk and luck..will not do this every time ..lol..Without that luck it really is still to expensive....

@Ilois4I love that you kept statistics for your sweet sweet challenge. I'm going to implement that the next time I go around.
I'm just estimating here, but I lost approximately 13 Rounds, 50 cupcakes, 60k simoleons, and approximately 150 simcash. Not to mention most of the times that I failed it was on the first or second round of the Bake Off. They certainly need to tweak the bake off's better and lower the Royal Treats boxes from 10 to something like 7, so it's doable for everyone even when they fail. It is really hard to get the royal tokens when there is really only two ways to get them. I have been told that you can get an extra Royal token if you get a commercial after your long event. So I tried to do that and I think they took that away from my game. I'm just hoping that the next sweet treat challenge I will not like any of the things and I could skip it. I am happy though to report that I did finish this sweet we challenge and got the cool hair and coffin. But to be honest it was a lot of work and a lot of stress. The only positive thing that came during this challenge was that I was able to get the beginner's package and that helped a lot. - 6 years ago
I really tried to give these Sweet Treats Challenges a chance, but after this 4th one, I can honestly say I just don’t enjoy or like them.
When one has to keep a calculator close by to keep figuring the percentages for winning a challenge, that’s no longer fun for me.
There were only a few prize rewards that I actually liked, but overall I’m not a fan of multi-colored cobwebs, tears in the wallpaper or Left-handed wrist cuffs as rewards.IMHO The cost of this event is still too expensive & a waste of hard-earned resources. It is also too long and too time consuming IRL.
I was so happy to buy that beginners pack with real (and very reasonable $$$), because I got exactly what I wanted- hairstyles, clothing, fireplace, bed etc. And it didn’t take 14 stressful days to do it or every last cupcake, simolean or SimCash I have.My biggest pet peeves are how the individual color swatches are even considered “prizes”. That’s a lot of sugar cookies to “win”
a swatch color you may not even want or like.
Why not offer more/better rewards & maybe gives 3 swatch colors instead of 6 ?
OR give us the option to buy swatch colors we want even after the STS event is over, because now I have chair and a bed in a color I don’t like & will never use and don’t have any way to purge my already overflowing storage.I still prefer the original way past Events like WinterFest & Halloween were done with progressive timelines & items like the candy bowls, Gift boxes etc. that automatically collected tokens.
I’m happy for those who enjoy these STS events and like their prizes, but I’m just not one of them.
Guess I’m just missing that gambling gene. - SalixCat6 years agoHero+
