In the latest update's Blog Notes, we mentioned that the preliminary fix for the Sim Busy Issue would go live as a part of the Briny Nights update.

Below are a few more details:

Q] What do the preliminary fixes include?

A] The team has resolved a part of the issue: "Passive Sims stuck (in an event) when tried to make active." Players can now select any passive sim in family portrait and make them active without any issues. The team continues to investigate and fix other areas.

Q] What improvement would players expect in their games on this issue?

A] We are confident that Sims that are Passive but stuck as busy can now be active again.

Q] How can a player take advantage of the fix?

A] Players can use the family portrait to switch the passive busy Sim back to active. If they are unable to, we suggest they back up their game, take note of their Player ID, and re-install the game.

Q] Once players get the passive but 'stuck as busy' Sim free, is there a possibility that the same Sim can get stuck again?

A] We believe this to fix to be a permanent one for passive sim busy issues. Ideally, Sims that recover should not face the problem again. If the problem does not resolve for any player, we would need to investigate why and I would request them to reach out to me! i am having the same problem with passive sims being busy in events. i also lost a sim that was a townie that i had one of my sims marry, and have seen them around town. it gives me the option to retire them and have done so but they didnt retire. my player id is

Hey, I just experienced this issue yesterday and my passive sim, Emily, can’t be interacted with and it says she’s “in an event”. I am also unable to make her playable again. Thank you so much.

  I have a baby that is stuck in an event.
  Really unsettling to have this floating baby hanging around.
  I’ve tried everything.
  Also cant bulldoze this lot now.

    I created another case as i now have 3 lots that have retired sims stuck.
    I cant remove the sims or interact with them. I cant bulldoze the lot they are on.
    I cant interact with a newborn because its also stuck in an event.
    I cant use the eco workshop.
    
    Support told me to reinstall the game, clear my safari browsing history/cache/cookies.
    Guess what?! Sims mobile is still broken.
    
    I really dont think this will ever be resolved. Its been going on for months. 😪

  I have 2 sims stuck in the busy freeze/can’t interact situation too.
  Events missing too.
  I was hoping that the second half of the spring forward update would help but it was scheduled for the 11th April, but it hasn’t shown up in App Store.
  is this a UK thing or all app stores?
  just I was hoping for the new app update to resolve.
  Also does not updating the app prevent the STS Spring Sweetness event from coming into the game?
  just this update is as glitchy as the previous.
  I purchased yamachans house and the transaction went through but it’s not in my game properly again…… and customer service had a major issue trying to resolve it and make the house active within my game properly but it’s been transferred to another team to hopefully get it active in my game. This happened with Jeong Manor too. Few weeks ago, which went in my game no problem once the agent made it active.
  it shows in catalogue that I can buy it for 4,200 simcash but it hasn’t placed the free with purchase template in catalogue so I can’t place it till resolved.does anyone know about the second update ?
  as every time I make a purchase in game it goes out the app and crashes then says it didn’t go through but it did. It did the same with sims festival but luckily they resolved that.
