Could you guys test if force closing the game when none of your Sims are in an event helps any? It could be a few finished events pop up. If so, accept them and force close again until they stop popping up.
See if that gives any difference in the story progression.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When my sim completes a shift in the restaurant career, he receives money, but no career points. He is currently on level 10 (94%) of the “Out of the Frying Pan” story, but is not progressing any further despite completing multiple shifts over the last 24 hours.
What do you expect to see? Receiving career points after completing career shifts.

I have switched my sim to a different career and back again, restarted my phone and checked that there are no game or IOS updates available.

Hey @LubaaugCastonet sounds like you hit level 10, but when you do, you actually have one more step to reach 100% completion. It’s only a small shift and it will complete the story for you. Just click on your career and the last shift should appear. If i remember rightly, all final shifts to complete stories come up with a blue heirloom token and only take around 30-45 mins to complete.
My career has kinda stopped progressing since the end of the HarvestFest event. Well, I actually havent paid much attention to the progression itself tbh but i cant do standard or long shifts in my DJ career thats 100% completed. It’s very frustrating because i’m Trying to build up cash for land clearance and that 450 coin could be very helpful! I’m sticking that sim in random events until its fixed, cos it’s at least slightly more money than the quick shift at least 😐
Umm... ok, so i just went back into my game and not only did i get the attached pop up that was from days ago, but my sim who I’d just put into a long 5 hours shift before coming to post the above post, had completed work 🤨. That part i dont mind, that was a nice glitch hahaha, but somethings still not right since the event.
I have a similar problem like yours, except that my career stopped at 80% two days ago. I am proceeding on the working quests again and again, but it would not go on. It’s really frustrating!!!

On the upside, these force closes are progressing my careers without my sims doing anything now. @Phantomlover1717 I had to force close 8 times just now! 8!! I had sims finishing hobbies at workplaces or in the middle of downtown and careers finishing at home. I also had them finish Teaching Moments in the restaurant even though there’s no babies, toddlers or children in my house. The only upside to this is that their careers and hobbies progressed, as did my simoleon total with every force close. THAT is something i have no issue with!
Is this ever going to get fixed? I’m assuming we will be starting a new even soon for Christmas and i hate to think how thats going to go after the HarvestFest fiasco and the seemingly permanent glitches it left in its wake. A few force closes are annoying, but dont take long, but 8! Come on now...
Wow literally exactly the same thing happened with one of my sims! I was at 90-something% and I wasn’t able to finish! I was so upset!
I took @Phantomlover1717's advice and forced a restart (shut down phone and then restart) and it worked! A "hidden" event that I had completed popped up with the pink checkmark. I clicked on it and, as @Phantomlover1717 suggested, repeated the forced restart several times until no more "hidden" events popped up. I was able to complete the event this way. Thanks for your super helpful advice, @Phantomlover1717!
