Does it appear in the side menu?
I also have the same issue. I have actually already collected the reward, but the notification did not go away. I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and when I load the new game data the same notification is still there. It cant be clicked on and it does not go away even when other event notifications are on the screen. It just stays on the screen and the game acts as if it isnt there even though it is. Its quite annoying lol :P
BTW Im not on apple like OP, I'm using an android phone.
Update, I just kept playing and the notification went away. Try going to another party, thats what I did. It went away when my sim went home for the second time. Maybe that will help?
