Has time required for land expansion been increased?

Is it correct that time for land expansion has been increased since yesterday? For example it took one hour to clear a plot yesterday. Today it takes16 hours to clear the same plot. Is this a bug or...

Based on my gameplay, the time and cost for land expansion increase as per the number of expansion done similar to how the cost of a room increases as you add more.

True, but it suddenly jumped...one evening it said 2 hours, and when I went and did it in the morning it said 2 days...!
