Help - Sim can’t get married

My sim is in a level 10 relationship. It says they are engaged but when I go to the wedding arch the option to get married is locked. How can I fix this? I don’t want to have to start from scratch wi...

He doesn’t look like an elder but maybe he is. I guess I’ll just have to start again from scratch. Thanks for trying to help.

One way to check if he's an elder is click on the family portrait and then his picture.
