How often do you get a suprising choice and what triggers them?

It would be awesome if someome could share their experience on this subject. How do you trigger your suprising choice to appear and how often does it appear to you?  One more thing: I read somewhere...

For the first time, in days but understand it was removed for a bit, I got one & so crazy happy that some sims mobile luck came my way for once because it was the pet one again so threw caution to the wind & this time it didn’t bug out on me!!

BOOM

The hedgehog doesn’t move & it kind of sticks into the sims hand a little after playing with it but yay, a pet 👍

@Here4Snacks woow you're so lucky. I'm so happy for you and for the fact that it's even possible. However almost a day after an uptade still no suprising choices for me 😔
