How do we increase item limit?
That is the million dollar question!
The only way I have found is to increase your number of rooms and definitely by increasing your Lifestyle. Even doing that does still limit the amount of items we can have on our home lot. Everything counts towards the item limit: Windows, doors, knicknacks, furniture, plants, everything. I have noticed though there must be a category item limit too. The other day I couldn't put another plant outside but I could put a toddler's bed inside. Also, decreasing the number of heirlooms displayed in your home frees up space for other items.
Hope this helps. 😊

I'm not so sure it is a category item limit so much as a "resources needed" item limit. I think the limit is based on how many memory and processor resources the item requires, so a plant might require more computing resources in the game than does the bed.
@BlueWizardRob And that makes sense too! I usually go through my inventory at night to see what It will let me put back. Some things I can, some I can't but it only works if I increase my Lifestyle value through the day too. 😊
