These are just the pure facts. No malice or anything, Just pure facts.
1. No EA game changer got access to test this build kit. Which is very telling, which means there was VERY little QA or testing going on. It's almost as if they made this update the week before it dropped. This is why there were no showcases on YouTube of the new lot or items until the day it dropped.
2. They took only 20 seconds in the Rene behind the scenes video to advertise this update and Freeplay got most of the attention. Meaning to me really, that they KNEW it wasn't going to be well received. It makes no sense to not advertise something people pay money for unless you KNOW it is broken.
3. The day the update dropped was on a Friday, meaning the team dropped the update KNOWING it was broken and they wouldn't be held accountable until the following Monday, and it's been an entire week since and STILL no patch. Two weekends off and no progress whatsoever.
4. From Pedro's message on twitter, the Devs called the community toxic...During the Where's the Network bug. Which literally locked people out of their game for up to a week DURING timed events and quests. This means that the team does not care about the state of the game, only their reputation and public image. Which has now culminated into this. The fact is that they're just not talented enough to understand or fix this game. It's not the community that is toxic. It's the devs that are just not good enough.
5. They're charging people, taking their property, then emailing them that they found nothing wrong with their account. After KNOWING this bug exists. That is why people are refunding in doves. EA Help is literally the worst customer service in the game. People are here because EA Help is useless. They KNOW that it's impossible to reach anyone that can actually help you. It's a wall designed to frustrate and humiliate you.
6. The people trapped in Izzy's closet now...Are people who have bought the pass and catch up. This thread passed 100 replies in less than three days. Meaning it is affecting THOUSANDS of accounts. This update is the worst they have ever dropped, and the worst I've ever seen in a Sims Game since My Wedding Stories.
EDIT:
BONUS: I believe they are mad they have to do the work now. I bet the dev team is cursing us out for exposing them and calling them out. I hope they are working the people to death for the work they didn't do then, now. I hope they are as stressed as us, checking twitter, reddit, for new replies and comments. I hope they see their bottom line just evaporate into thin air and someone really gets fired for this.
Because unacceptable does even begin to describe what is going on......
