Kitchen sink does not work

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? This bug will happen if a sim tries to wash an empty plate. The sim will only wash the plate at the bathroom sink, they will not use the kitchen sink.
What do you expect to see? The kitchen sink should be useable

I’m noticing that sims who wash empty food plates will automatically use the bathroom vanity sink instead of the kitchen sink. At first I thought that it was because the distance to the bathroom sink was closer. Then I realized that sims actually can’t use their kitchen sink to wash dishes at all. If one sim is washing dishes at the vanity, no other sim will be able to wash dishes. The kitchen sink is not blocked, as it can be used for cooking hobby events.

    This is an old topic but I hope my answer will help someone else.

    I used a premade small kitchen for my sim, so I didn't really notice the furniture at the beginning. The kitchen sink is right behind the table where they eat, so it was obviously closer than the bathroom's. They wouldn't even use the dishwasher. It was just like they didn't exist - and i Confirm this, because out of frustration I deleted the bathroom sink just to watch their reaction.

    Then it clicked me. There was some decorative furniture over the kitchen sink and the dishwasher. I moved it a little bit up and it FINALLY WORKED.

    It didn't seem it was a problem. I just gave it a shot, and it worked for me. Hopefully this will help others too.
