My Baby Disappeared - Do Sims have Dingos?

I had two sims make a baby during my lunch hour and this afternoon I named the baby and closed the game.  

Opened the game when I got home from work, and the baby has completely disappeared.  I've had rewards and things go missing before, but this is making me want to stop playing this game.  This is ridiculous!
