@MissBeta Hi, unfortunately it will be some kind of bug in the game again. Or it's your device's fault, I really have no idea. I'll try to find out something and get back to you.
This is affecting several iPad models at least since 2021.
According the Seoul-ful Spring Update blog notes, the team was going to adapt the game to several iPad models. We are still waiting for these improvements to be done.

Well this is really discouraging, a two year old thread for what is a substantial accessibility issue, I got a new iPad Pro recently and all the icons and text is now miniscule. Thought it was a settings issue but nothing there, goggled it to find many many people having reported it and as yet no resolution 🙃
Hi ,the game is not the correct size for some IPad devices. Several months have passed and some people are still facing the same problem. Unfortunately, no one from EA is solving it. @EA_Cade
Years have passed ! This was first reported in 2021. So disappointed that it still has not been addressed

The game's UI is finally optimized for iPad.
This issue should be resolved in update 45.1.0.156162 launched 7th August 2024.

This is so much better!! My eye sight is saved 🤣🤣 seriously though I was having to use the little zoom window function on the iPad for things like the sweet treat show down, could never read the % values even with glasses!
@gmccar I agree! I was also having so much trouble trying to read the item names in inventory. The text was so tiny.
@ghengannop I understand this is a significant change. I believe the update was aimed at improving readability and accessibility, particularly for users who found the previous version difficult to use.
Yes, i understand that this is to resolve issues for UI problems for ipad devices that have issues with small UI. If i am an ipad user i will also appreciate this update.
However, as an iphone user i have seen other iphone users are experiencing the bigger UI issue and it takes up 60% of the screen. I supposed majority of the players are iphone players and there are tons of complaints on reddit.
Fixing the issue for one group of players but causing a whole lot of issue for another group of players is not consider a proper fix.
I hope that at least giving users a choice to toggle between bigger and smaller UI will be added and i feel that will be the better solution.
The game size now is also looking perfect on my iPhone 12
