Sims Mobile -she won’t become passive but not because she’s busy FIXED BY UPDATE

Product: The Sims Mobile
Platform:Apple iPad
List the specific devices you play with (e.g. iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7) iPad Air 3
OS Version 15.3
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? My sim is not busy, I’ve opened and closed the app multiple times to be sure - she”s not busy, check the screenshot. The others are busy, she’s not. So I go to the portrait to make her passive and switch to another sim. I click “make passive” - surprisingly I’m not having the issue everyone else is having where it says “sim is busy”. Instead, nothing happens. I hit the button, nothing happens. Same with retirement.
What do you expect to see? To make my sim PASSIVE. And to be able to promote her again when the time is right!

She’s not busy, she should be able to become passive…but she’s not.

Edit: Deleted and redownloaded the app, still doesn’t work. Also restarted my iPad.

  • They came out with an update and the retirement, banner, and other issues went away! 🙌

  • @Checkmate_96 There seems to be some problems with this feature (the switching of passive and active Sims), so I think the general advice is not to use it until the next update hopefully fixes the problem. You could end up with making passive Sims that are impossible to interact with - like ghosts…

I agree with @KatlaStorm and this seems to be a variant of the same theme, issues with the functionality of passive Sims. They get stuck and this makes the game unplayable.

@Checkmate_96 For the moment, you could try an alternative solution that has worked for some players. Leave all your active Sims idle for a while. Then, restart your device. It might happen that some pink tick signs appear, like a "hidden" event your Sims were doing. If this happens, tap on it and repeat the procedure a couple of times to be sure your Sims are no longer stuck in some event.

Now, this can temporarily fix issues and we need to wait until the next update which hopefully will bring some bug fixes for critical issues.

  • Same issue here. Passive Sims get stuck “Sim is busy” and in a routine and cannot make them active or have any interaction with my active Sims. Another frustrating thing is that the Izzy fashion item is tuck with them.

Out of this frustration, I made a mistake of “Remove”-ing a couple of Sims, and now they are elders (fine!) but the Izzy fashion are wearing locked with them! HELP!

I also experienced losing few Sims from my roster and some I found wandering in town.

  • @SalixCat Oh yea I’ve actually had that happen before where I leave a sim idle and close the app, then when I go back in there’s a ✅ check mark showing they had finished something. I’ll see if that will happen again - thank you.

Hopefully a good update comes soon to fix the bugs, I’m honestly surprised at the amount there have been here. I’ve had the “This sim is busy” thing before while trying to make one passive actually and have no idea how that got fixed for me. One time I just removed a sim when it did that. Plus the “seasonal tasks” message that won’t go away… but at least that’s not as huge of an issue since the game still continues.

  • @jilliane120 that sucks! I was about to say all I can think of to get those items back is if you could interact with those sims and try to give them a makeover… I’m not sure what else you could do other than trying to socialize with them :/ hopefully that gets fixed soon
