I have all items from the event previously in inventory except both gingerbread houses, I never got those from the last years event I guess.

Yes, and I believe the same last year. Which may be why finishing the sts is impossible. It would seem that those of us who used cupcakes on the sts events and money on the showdown to speed through are being penalized by being blocked from the gingerbread houses.
