Badge Farmers?

I am myself pretty convinced that a large amount of effort goes to people with many alts, highly funded to increase their chance of one or more winning a badge.

And those accounts are given to people who did not actually do they task so they can claim the achievement.

Fine and all.....

But my problem is the following.

People complain when any change to the rulesets makes that quick badge take any longer than necessary thus killing variaity between servers.

Also....

If people are supporting that style there is little chance for the in game funds to get cheaper as many complain they should be. Half the cost will mean at least twice the farming

As well as....

Features of the standard game like layouts, many unique units and research costs are almost pointless to have if the game is just a badge framing effort. So no new features

My opinion.

I'm happy to have seen the concept mature...🎂

  • @b97cbae3213388eeYou're probably right on all counts. However, the mechanics of the game (changes in rulesets etc) and the code is getting old and more difficult to change repeatedly to provide new features. I don't know what the contract is between EE and EA but pricing of the game itself is decided solely by EA not the developers. Changes are agreed between EA and EE, but as you say, they've been limited recently. I don't think the alt badge farming is a feature that is too worrying for the money men/women at EA though. If the game takes more money than EE and the server farms cost then it is profitable and great, when it costs more to maintain and serve up then it will close. Consider they closed the multi-player abilities of previous CnC incarnations probably because they weren't profitable.

I believe that a user platform during its lifetime reflects the sum of its usership. Web based at least.

So in an abstract way the users are a major part of development. A very democratic method to say them least so collectively in my opinion users have some responsibility for the state of things.

The users aren't a collective or homegenous group who act together.  As such they don't behave as a democratic society (whatever that is) and are just a group of small groups and individuals.

I am referring to the development environment and how the users base may be interpreted logically. I guess the popular term now is telemetry.

But users will socialize how they may and it's no business of mine.

The web user environment is very persistent but it least the actual users are getting more control over things like social media accounts.

Almost like a blank canvas or a lump of clay....?

A lot of people use discord as a tactical hub.

Its pretty much part of their commander character's profile if you think about it.
