The Origin of Kane is revealed as the servant of the Scrin (an alien race). The Scrin fight all other species on worlds across the galaxy. Every species they encounter improves their military because in conquering new species they analysis genomes to build better warriors for a multitude of different terrestrial worlds in their expansion across the milky way. The Earth was something of an experiment for them since they decided to harvest the genome of the dominate species of that world, homo sapiens at different stages of development to account for periodical genome mutations thus they had their agent Kane send a regular sample at different time intervals. This 'sample' is cultivated by their willingness to submit to this process through religious cults initiated by Kane. At the point of cultivation or ascentation the agent experience feelings of rewarding godlike euphoria and that drives Kane's determination submit humans into cults in preparation for harvest (eg during stalin's leadership, C&C3,4). Before each harvest a small Scrin scout party arrive to prepare the towers for the harvest. By the year 2056 however human understanding of military science is at a point where they become difficult to harvest. This early happening of advanced human military science was unplanned due to the uncalculated arrival of a common used Scrin miliary resource- tiberium via a comet. This makes humans competitive against the Scrin and dependant on their agent Kane for human intelligence gathering however kane realises he has leverage over higher ranking officers within the Scrin miliary and applies his well practiced political manipulation on them too.
