- I must admit I have not read the post but two years from Dec 2017 would be Dec 2019 and perhaps Dec 2017 was month one.just a thought.
- There have been players come here and complain because their account had been deleted from a world after a prolonged time away, so 2 years is used.
Accounts are first marked inactive by the system and given a rank of 0 - many old worlds have only a few hundred players listed, some less than 100.
I wonder how the assessment is made that 'nothing has happened'. As an ordinary player, how do you know nothing has happened unless your accounts have been dormant for 2 years or more on a world - I can see accounts that have been inactive for more than 2 years, and they are definitely NOT deleted, still retaining their scores and bases.
You can't fool us; we actually can see the last login dates of inactives in our alliance. - I would guess they are considered active while they are members of an alliance no matter how long ago they were online?
Maybe unless they are a 1 man alli...
/Key - Maybe it's not working on all worlds. Certainly, some have been on this forum to complain their accounts were deleted so some worlds must be deleting accounts. Unfortunately even deleting accounts isn't freeing up space, as many of those worlds are closed to new entrants.
- My accounts are removed on worlds I haven't played in for years, so I can confirm that the deletion function on inactive worlds are in effect.
- And in my opinion, all old worlds should be removed completely and instead transfer the resources used on server rent/maintenace to make new major upgrades (because it's about time!!) instead of only patching and adding minor features.... B)
- I'm not sure about it saving much as they are virtual servers, but I agree with you about a definite closing of old worlds. It seems odd to me that worlds are kept open 'forever' even when the number logging in is a tiny proportion of those originally on the world.
Prime examples for closure, to me, are the old style worlds (CB1/2, 1-108) and the country/language specific ones, the Vet servers and the 'World Championship' servers. As one is introduced of the Vet and WC types, the oldest should be closed.
Yes, some have resources and caps they have bought, but it will be very few. Some way of transferring them from the old world to a setting for a new version must be possible to be found as the resources are in a database and not directly connected to EA's funding system. - methuselah7 years agoRetired HeroSlow down on the closing of old worlds, some of us love those old worlds! I still play in Closed Beta 1, the very first public server, 2,348 days later and I'm still in there every day. As for the deletion mechanic I'm unsure exactly how it works perhaps someone from Envision will chime in here but it does appear to be working for me as well.
- ooooft .. @methuselah ... whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do u still plod on there ?????????????????????
