Not enough power for new bases

Twice now I have not been given near enough power when founding a new base!! My 7th base gave me so little power that I was left with 200M tib and 1.3G crystal!!!!! Guess what? Couldn't upgrade my base defence enough to be protected in the area I was in, so whilst waiting for power to generate the EA forgotten bases took the lot of my resource, all 1.5G of it..... Just like they did on the last base that I didn't have enough power, lost the lot to a computer, I'd at least have preferred it if another player had benefited from my resource!!

Problem is, there's lots of things you could do to stop this from happening and annoying players.... you could have the base protected from the forgotten for longer than a blummin hour? You could provide more power? You could allow players to put tib/crystal/power into package storage, maybe downside to doing this would be having to use your supply points to get them back? You could offer unlimited power for a set time after the base is founded to allow the use of all of the resource?... I'm sure you could probably think of other fair solutions..

I suppose you could suggest I found my base in a lower level area? So I have to move all my bases away from my alliance and take weeks to get back to where I was because I want to put down a new base? NOPE!

The most annoying thing about this is I cannot see a reason why EA would give so little power compared to what is needed to effectively use what is provided for a new base, other than hoping you will spend more money on power to use it? Well, after spending around £80-90 on this game in last 6 months to get to where I am now, I refuse to spend more for this sort of situation, I'm also pretty much put off playing this game after this world, so you'll be losing any revenue from me... Well done EA

    7th base gives 1.835G tib, 2.955G crys, 800M power
That is about 6 units of resources for each unit of power
The game uses a 4:1 ratio in most cases (except harvesters and power plants) so 6:1 is a bit unbalanced indeed
But what people usually do is transfer most of the crystal to main base and upgrade main offense, so they have extra unused power left on the new base actually (which could also get destroyed)
It is indeed a pity that your resources got lost, but the amount of resources and the associated risks are 100% predictable (see arsenal), and you can move 40 spots with little risk if you make the first move while your new base is at level 7. Alternatively, you could build up the defense on the new base, which should be able to survive in 1 wave with the amount of resources provided originally.
Do the planning before you drop the base, and then I find it hard to imagine any problems that you can't avoid.
