I max out my power (12GB per hour per base) in World 106 but power accumulation takes over 12x as long on World 6 (1GB per hour per base) despite the cost of army upgrades being the same in both worlds.
As a result, are new worlds meant to finish maxing out quicker than old worlds? I'm almost done with Beta and W106 but World 6 is gonna take me another 3 years!
As you noted, the economies and therefore settings are different on the two worlds. I don't know but suspect one of the setting changes is as you suggest, new economy worlds are intended to be different and quicker.

in old economy were more ressources in outposts but less own base-production. The consequence: Dozens of bases who were always build the same. Nobody used harvester or silos. You always had too much Tiberium. When I remember correct thats why the setting was changed long time ago.
Hi Leo, the resource I need the most in World 6 is power. I don't use any harvesters or silos and sitting on 230T of crystal!
I am currently farming tiberium outposts to further increase my power.
