Reboot the series?

Just an open question to you guys, Should EA make an attempt to pick up where it left off and try to reboot the original Tiberium and Red Alert Series?
  • People have been asking them to do something for years now. Need an online petition
  • If it were me I would reboot, the story line got so screwed up when C&C Arena became C&C 4 I'm not sure how you fix that. To be honest I'd settle for a really good game regardless of all of that.
  • Private opinion:
From what I understand Red Alert IS a reboot of the Series already^^

Not sure how a possible sequel would turn out, I mean... a Tiberium franchise without Kane is kinda meh.
Tho I'd love to see Scrin come back.
A proper Generals entry would ofc be neat too.

There is ofc always the possibility of doing a prequel, setting the storyline somewhere inbetween the existing titles. Always good to address some lose ends/gaps/plot holes...

But I don't think the series needs a reboot. The core elements still hold up today i think. I kinda get the impression they tried to do stuff differently with C&C4 because they wanted to avoid direct competition to SC2 but yeah... bad call.

I think everyone would be happy with a traditional ANY C&C game after all that time. Tho a HD remaster of the old TS/Firestorm in the likes of Stronghold HD/Age of Empires HD would be nice too...

  • I think by reboot he means the fiction. The game itself not so much although I'd prefer to get back to the fundamentals from C&C 4. It is too bad EA made the decision to force Arena into 4, Arena as a standalone multiplayer game would have been interesting and it would have left C&C 4 to be crafted from the beginning with the fiction in mind instead of make poor Sam Bass and crew force it in there the best they could.

As long as we get campy live action cutscenes i'm not against it
