Technical Issues with Chrome Version 69.0.3497.81 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Using this is causing problems with blanking of screens when logging in.

Log in, close open base and the screen will blank.

Also sometimes happening is a report that the graphics experience might not be optimal on my system and it is telling me to check that the video drivers are up-to-date and I'm using a compatible web browser.

Leaving subs will also create a momentary blank screen on the tab I move to after closing a tab where I had been playing.

Also, moving the area of focus in game by dragging the screen around can cause a momentary blank screen.

The developers are aware of these issues and are investigating.

  • In the new version of Chrome, I got rid of blanking problems by switching off hardware acceleration option in browser settings.
    ...may help for others too.
  • I noticed Chrome has moved on to Version 69.0.3497.92
I have not had any performance drop or screen blanking so far. Are players with this version still experiencing these issues?

    Hi,
I updated my browser last night to Chrome 69, stupid move on my part but i managed to fix the issues that followed.
Game ran at 5 FPS, had to disable ingame animations etc.
However some dude on the forum told me to disable hardware acceleration in chrome and it worked.
    Everything back at 58fps.
Go to Settings > Advanced > System (at the bottom) and uncheck the 'Use Hardware acceleration when possible'.
Restart the browser and bobs yer uncle.

  • Unfortunately I've done all the mitigating things to make it work on the previous version, such as the turning of animations in game and turning off the hardware acceleration. So although Chrome has updated I'd already stopped having the issues related to Chrome. I still have very slow loading, often pausing at OriginGameServices when looking at the network report in the console after pressing F12

Yes mine has updated again today to the same version as you, my reported issues have gone now.

Back to speedy loading and 59 FPS in game
