The new colour scheme was broken - the old one did not meet the standards expected of modern websites to enable those with sight deficiency to see the differences clearly.
Normally when there is difficulty connecting to EA servers there are many reports in the forum. There has not been multiple reports, yours is the first.
A check on a 'down detector' web site is usually helpful too as that can highlight when it is not just the CnC:TA game affected but EA servers generally.
