You are right that there are no co-operative split screen mode in Titanfall. Titanfall is a pure online multiplayer shooter and does not support local co-op. I enjoy local co-op personally but keep in mind that Titanfall is a competitive FPS game without PvE game-mode. You have PvE aspects (the minions etc.) but you always play against real enemies while the most local co-op options with split screen requiring an PvE mode.
