Titanfall 2 Controller Freezes At Title Screen

Yesterday, I purchased Titanfall 2 from the Microsoft Store for my Xbox X Series.  I first purchased the $2.99 version that must only work if you're subscribed to EA Play.  I don't want to get EA Play, so I delete that version and purchased Titanfall 2: Ultimate Edition because I thought it was stand alone.  After I downloaded it, I went to play it but my controller freezes at the title screen.  I've uninstalled and reinstallled.  I've cleared the cache on my unit as well as resetting the console.  Nothing works.  What should I do now besides kiss my money goodbye?
