12 Spots Open - fixed "Cannot Connect To Server" issue

Looking great, mate!
  • Then it was timing. Inactive players don't affect your game. You also might have a donut or two in your trash too. Having pending friends could though.
  • Well this was EA's assessment. Why would they direct me to delete them after a couple weeks of unsuccessful problem resolution if it couldn't possibly the the problem? I suspect that some of my inactive friends were a couple updates back and it was causing conflict only when trying to access the friend screen. All I know is that every other attempt to resolve didn't work until I deleted the inactive players. Also, EA verified that it wasn't my devices or Springfield.

At any rate, I'm still looking for some more regulars. Just send me an invite if interested. I don't care if you don't have the best Springfield either.
  • You have a nice town.
I tried to send you a friend request but it failed.
    Try again later it said.
  • Interesting that inactive neighbors can cause crashes. Glad you got it worked out
I would definitely send you an invite if I wasn't completely full right now.

Very often, support people don't know what they're talking about. I suspect this is because executives resent having the drain on their resources, much the same as their attitude toward security. They have it because they don't know how to get away with ditching it, but starve it as much as possible.

I've had friends inactive since before Thanksgiving, and haven't had the same problem you've had. I won't say that it couldn't have solved your problem, but it seems odd to me.

I completely agree with that! Especially after reading someone's email the other day who told EA 3 or 4 times what their problem was and the support guy still didn't understand the problem! I think they just fob you off with excuses!

As for the friends thing, almost half of my (100) friends were inactive until I realised and deleted them after the launch of FP, and I never had a problem :?
  • Maybe it depends on the neighbor. Perhaps they had 2 Cletus' farms or something.

I have 1 inactive neighbor on level 23. I don't think he's played since before Whacking Day. I've always been able to visit him to get Snakes, Goo, Gift Cards, Hearts, etc. It was only for the FP update that made buildings only tappable once. So after his town was drained, I just hide the town.

I keep him around since he's a real friend of mine, I don't know if he'll ever play again (doesn't seem likely), but I have him in my list out of respect.

So I don't know, it might depend what those neighbors had, it might have been tied to old content or methods that were in place in the early stages of the game.
  • great looking town. Would be glad to add you if youre still looking. I sent you a PM
