250 Donuts? OMG

So, I'm going through the menu of different buildings, characters, etc., and I see under "recommended" Barney's Bowlarma... for 250 donuts. I have eight... haha It'll take me weeks, if not months to earn that many donuts.
Is that how EA gets you to dive into your pocket? I have to admit, I'm not, what my friends and I call, a wallet warrior.

I've been hugely impressed with many of my neighbor's towns. How long did it take you to get all those donuts for those special buildings?

    Yep. I left the game for a few months part way through the Deep Space Homer event, so that event restarted at part 4 for me with the update last week. I bought the Barney bundle on Sunday which included the astronaut Barney skin for the usual 250 donuts but with a 130 donut rebate. Couldn't say no to that.
