- If it's too much work to collect money from characters, then don't send them on tasks.
If it's too much work to send characters on tasks, don't send them.
If it's to much of a temptation, then store them, (and their building if necessary).
That should solve this recurring problem. maximbarne126 wrote:
I'm 100% for this but many others aren't so it's unlikely it'll happen. :?
I'm on the fence from a philosophical perspective. Seems to me such a feature goes against the very nature of the game. But a player can choose whether or not to use this feature, similar to the character locator button and the town census, so I wouldn't quit the game over it.
With 130+ characters, I agree it's becomming pretty onerous to assign tasks to all characters in one sitting, especially short-duration tasks. I have almost $140M in-game cash, so at this point I only send a small subset of characters on tasks, mostly on a whim (outside of events), and mostly 12-or 24-hour tasks when I do.
In the end, if EA did give us such a feature, I'd probably initially complain about it, then eventually slink into my hole, pull a cover over my head, and use it in shame. Or, in the tradition of /r/thebutton, I'd be a stalwart gray until I eventually push the button.- I don't understand people who are against this idea. Saying you're cool with the game as it is now is fine, but then you could just not use the button. Why rail against people who want to have the option? Different people like to play different ways.
Their being "lazy" (or preferring to spend their time other ways) doesn't affect anyone else's gameplay, so why not have it? - The underlying concept of this idea has come about in a number of different ways to implement it. The one I like best so far is an improvement upon the census/task UI. It would be a method to choose a task duration and then queue up a list of characters tasks of that duration with the button on the right to send on task and moves the next in the list to the top for rapid sending on same duration tasks. Right now the main thing that annoys me about the current task list design is that the outfit section changes the task lists vertical position on the screen so when tapping through the list of characters and sending on tasks the top task (the intended same duration task as the last assigned task) gets moved from where the finger is hovering to tap and you have to slow down tapping to avoid sending some on a longer duration than intended because the task you want is not where your finger last tapped. I had suggested moving the outfit picker to the left of the UI since the UI is a fixed position from the right of the screen. That way the task lists size and position remains static between characters with and without outfits. As it is the 2nd best thing I can think of to the list idea. A one tap send everyone on X duration task would have one complication I can think of and that is joint task vs not joint task conflicts within same task durations. For example homer and barbarian. Homer has a 1 hour joint task with him and also has his regular 1 hour task. Not impossible to code but there may be easier ways of making a feature to do the end result but who knows for sure without knowing enough about the inner workings than we do.

Tapping through my friends
Tapping through my life
I want this tapping easier
I forgot to tap my wife
If someone made it easier
I may have some time to spare
If someone made it easier
I may not care
Tapping through my characters
Tapping past bedtime
Would really making it easier
Be much of a crime?
Tapping in my dreams
Tapping when I am blue
If it was any easier
I would think I had nothing to do.
Perhaps we should come up with a contest for BEST COMMENT OF THE MONTH. This would be my nominee. The fourth line had me LOL and it only got better after that.Pinpal00 wrote:
