Someone mentioned the idea of not having an entire monorail, but just the station and perhaps a piece of rundown, broken track (since it wasn't in existence after that episode), as a way of compromising having the monorail and it not taking up too much room.
Also, I disagree that using characters portrayed by deceased actors is disrespectful, I actually view it as commemorative and a nice salute to the work they did on the show in helping create those memorable, beloved characters.
Truthfully I imagine it's more a rights issue, in terms of using the actor's voice, though that may not be the case either since Fox owns the rights outright. I'd like a voiced Hutz, McClure, or Lanley, but I'd rather have them unvoiced as opposed to not having them at all.
Point is, there are ways to include the monorail and those characters. They may require some compromise, but I have no problem with that.
