- smohqyNew SpectatorYeah, we'll just have the name changed to Tapped Once.
- I had not read this thread, when I posted a response in another thread.
First, smohqy, I LMFAO, hilarious!!
Anyway, I just wanted to add that we have had some variations on this already, during events. During the Clash of Clones, we could use the red cheater 20 dice to clear our entire town, if we wanted to do so. Or they could be used for attacking, either one. And during Halloween 2013, we had the ghost bombs, we could use to clear our entire town of all the ghosts and collect them at the same time. I personally liked those options while they existed. So I could see it coming back in some form like this.
Maybe not something you always have for free, but an item you can either buy with donuts, or earn randomly, like through the Kwik-e-Mart scratchers, visiting neighbors, or the weekly mystery box. I would like this addition to the game. - I've been playing this game since it came out, so i can understand how some of u wouldnt agree. Years of tapping hundreds of buildings gets old to me. But I respect your opinions.
- I agree with the OP. There are several reasons why and I will list a few.
1. The sheer size of how big this game has become. For long time players, and especially premium players such as myself it is now a HUGE chore to collect all the handshakes, tasks, event items/currency, etc. every time we go to our towns. In the beginning I doubt the developers had any idea of just how big and lengthy this game would be.
2. Ease of collection. Sometimes, well most of the time, my town is teeming with activity whether it be from the current event, handshakes, or any random task my characters are on. Having the ability to collect all of a certain thing would help a LOT with the simple tap of an icon.
3. People with limited time/connection issues. This doesn't pertain to me, but those who have limited windows with bad internet, or device issues could get more done while still being able to enjoy the game.
Now, I'm not saying to make it mandatory that the game plays this way, but what harm would it do if there was a setting screen that looked like this?
Collection Settings
0 - Collect all handshakes per tap
0 - Collect all money on tap
0 - Collect on all complete tasks
0 - Collect ALL
Now those 0's would be clickable boxes to either turn on or off the settings. This would help streamline things and make it a lot smoother for those who would just like to go into their town and "get the business done" and go back to whatever they need to.
I also feel that there should be some requirement to get these settings unlocked. I would say at least be level 40 AND have completed all the main story line with all the buildings up to that point built. With this being a setting that a player could turn on and off, the players who didn't want to use this feature could leave the game as is.
Look back not too long ago when we got the update where the characters list was added to the upper left corner. What a profound impact that something as simple as that made. Gone were the days of having to hunt through a town to make sure all your characters were making money, and having to shadow buildings/decorations to find some, but you could just tap that icon and BOOM you knew who was free and who wasn't. - barryriddl474Seasoned Newcomer

I haven't been playing quite as long as you, but I have no real need for the money, so I just leave it for neighbors while making more unneeded cash from handshakes and tasks. Do you still have a need for money in this game? SuperMario643000 wrote:

The harm is it takes away from the game. Also EA wants you to spend as much time as possible on this app, and you can't blame them for it. That's why this game exists.
They gain NOTHING by the amount of time one has the app open. They don't get money for "time played" by players.
Also it takes nothing away from the game for those that would choose not to use those settings.- I really really wish there was a "collect all" button, for both characters and buildings. I also wish we could send all of our characters on tasks at the same time. There could be an option for "send all" and then you'd select the time. If some characters didn't have that time as an option, they'd be left out. And if you wanted some of your characters set to different times for whatever reason, you'd just set them up first so they wouldn't be included. I don't see any reason for them to want us to play longer. It's not like they make more money if we play more. I'd understand if they needed ad hits or something, but there are no ads.

the point of a game is to play it, not to just log on, hit a button then log off.
No button could ever decorate for us.
Saying that not collecting every individual thing is the same as not playing a town-building game is nonsensical. It anyways has been.
I wish the game had a different name, because that's all that makes people think that tapping is more important to this game than building the town. I can't imagine anyone making this claim about simcity. Or Tribez, which actually has an auto-collect feature once you build the tax office. (There's also no house farming in Tribez, so maybe some limit on which buildings could be collected would stop the crying about it? I don't know.)- smohqyNew Spectator

btw, guys, I just wanted to get a quick snarky comment in early. I didn't have time to continue because it was family time.
I actually agree with the OP, and have been thinking of ways to make everybody happy, us AND EA. Those ideas were actually mentioned in this thread. I don't think it would be ideal to be able to collect all from buildings AND untask/task all characters. I think a button/control panel for characters would be enough for me. Kinda like the light plunger from Crossmas. Boom, hit it once and all completed tasks would be cleared, and then the panel would let you scroll through a list of times to select all characters who have that length be tasked. Of course, we all know how handy merely the plunger is, how handy would the panel be? I'd pony up 100 donuts for it. 150, even. And don't make it so you can leave characters untasked when the task is set. Just get that character working on what you want before setting the rest. If you accidentally set Homer on an 8-hour task, but need him for a quest line/event, EA might make a few more donuts from you, depending on how eager you are. Give them more incentive to do this. Sure, they want us to be happy (to a certain extent), but money talks.
Maybe it could also be available only after a certain level, like say... maybe level 50? Give the devs time to get it working.
Lotta good ideas in this thread, and I am also getting tired of/not having the time for so much tapping as my town grows. - Honestly, I think that's a great idea, having a level requirement, but that doesn't always make people go tap once and the log out. I'd say it's especially useful if you're waiting on one of your house farms to cough up the money, and you decide to use the 45 second task for all your characters to bide time.
