Adjust SH Leaderboard For Glitches, Please (I'm at 1.8 Billion)

How many buildings are we talking about?
  • Personally I think that the Springfield Heights leader board is meaningless, I couldn't care if I'm at the top or the bottom and the same with where my neighbours are too, the best thing to do with it is to remove it completely as it has no real use in the game.

I'd support that option, too. But they'd have to explain why it's being removed or field support calls from people wondering why it was gone.

Probably the best route in the future for "leaderboards" is to only introduce them after the event it's for is proven to be non-glitchy.

I don't know for sure, since I didn't intentionally try to take advantage of this. But it looks like for some buildings I was able to double the number from ten to twenty. That's a lot of extra real-estate value for the leaderboard, especially once you fully upgrade those buildings to level five.
  • Seeing as you still put the time and work in to upgrading the buildings, I'd say you gained the points on the leaderboard legitimately. :D

Like many others, I'm sure, I glitched the first phase of Springfield Heights when it first came out. I did it by accident, because by it could happen so easily by accident.

As a result, I got more than ten of certain buildings that you're only supposed to have ten of. Eventually I maxxed them out, and so my total SH value is over 1.8 billion now. I'm certain others who intentionally took advantage of the glitch did are well over 2 billion now.

I'm tops of my friends list SH leaderboard, but I'm not proud of it. It's largely due to the glitching, of course. And I can't see who really worked harder on developing SH.

But there is a way, and it doesn't even have to involve taking anything away from anybody:

Just have only the first ten of those buildings contribute to the SH value - or at least have an "adjusted" SH value that shows up after the regular one.

As it is now, the SH leaderboard is meaningless, due to this glitching that occurred. And with SH continuing to be rolled out in phases, this is becoming more and more important. I don't want my Tapped Out friends to think I worked a lot harder than them at SH when I didn't.

Echoing others, I think this board is pretty meaningless in general. But hats off to you for glitching it! I got done the night before SH part 2 was released.

I agree it is meaningless, however it is useful to quickly jump to a particular neighbor. I would like to keep it just for this.

I like the leaderboard. I can see how I am progressing compared to others. I also don't think there is anything wrong with you taking advantage of an early exploit, you hustled while other didn't.

It's funny you mention that, because I have one "friend" on my (all anonymous to me) friends list that clearly glitched too and was "duelling" me for the top position until he must have simply run out of stuff to upgrade. It was back and forth for weeks, until his SH petered out "only" 100 million behind me. That's how I know for sure I'm not the only person who ran into this.

It's amusing to me because I could see bursts of effort from him to pull ahead and then he'd stop just as he got ahead of me - to prove he could. I would then do the same to him. We're talking about jumps of 100,000,000 or so in a short time period - a lot of tapping. I was wondering until the very end who would run out of stuff to upgrade... and now with phase two here we go all over again!

    Exactly. :D

Teleporting to a selected neighbor is much quicker than swiping through the map.
