- In case you don't know....
As soon as a character is finished with a task and the thumbs up appears, it will appear to anyone visiting that this person is wandering aimlessly. :) - I suspect the problems with the origin friends list last log-in dates are because: 1. a dead town could show an active log-in date if the player logs in to a different EA game using origin, and 2. the log-in dates of android users are just plain inaccurate.

You know what would be useful - if a town started to be overrun with weeds and plants and building started to fall apart if the town hasn't been attended to for a while, say 2 weeks. The town gradually turning to dust with wild animals everywhere.......
I love this.
I love this idea, too.
Edit: verb tense - I'm keeping all my characters free for the xmas update, however, I've also lost huge interest in constantly checking the game once I tapped my last squidport tile.
- On occasion, I leave most of my characters idle, since the last few story lines involved several characters, or one particular character in more than one story line. Just an FYI on checking your friends list in IOS to see when they last logged in; that doesn't appear to be accurate. I have found some of my neighbors are listed as not logging in for months when, in fact, they are visiting me quite regularly.

great idea..... it grates on me that in the post apocolyptic zombie world of Walking Dead that someone is finding the time tokeep fields and verges cut and tidy
seriously though...... I have all my characters finishing tasks early tomorrow uk time so they are free for a quick christmas start :D :D :D- I leave my guys to wander most of the time unless they are told to do something. Sometimes I'll put them all on a task just to do one though.
- I'm on pretty much all day long. I need cash, and the way to get the most cash is sending characters on ONE hour tasks. If I happen to not be checking at exactly the one-hour mark, a visitor would see all 69 of them wandering around. So that may not be a good indicator of whether someone plays the game.
Even when I let them wander around unassigned, there are a few tasks I can't resist ... Chalmers and Wiggums in dresses, Witch Marge flying around on her broom, Duffman on his scooter, and a few others I can't recall at the moment. If I had been around when Abe Lincoln was available, or that Mayan-looking Homer, I'd die a happy woman, because I LOVE those two. - So, finding people wandering around town isn't a reliable way to tell if a person is neglecting their town. BUT, if I find people doing tasks, I can be pretty sure that neighbor was in the town within the past x number of hours (depending on the tasks.)
Good to know! - I just switched recently from 24 hr tasking of all characters, to no tasks for characters. I thought maybe having them all working was contributing to all my crashes. And, I have $12M in cash, all land, all buildings, etc. and just reached 100k tickets in Krustyland and have all the land there too. A It actually took some discipline to NOT task my characters, but I'm getting used to it. However, I still let Jimbo skateboard, and I like to see Selma and Patty smoking, so I do those... aside from those, I'm now only doing the tasks in the task book...
- They don't need a task to make them do one. Many level 37 don't bother putting them on a task. It takes a lot of time when there's so many characters. I for one don't need $ or xp right now. But that's just me waiting for 38
