I finished Xmas with a week or so to spare.
Me too, but back in the day (said from my rocking chair with lots of young whippersnappers sitting on the floor looking at the old guy) I was finishing really early. It was more a comment that recent events have had some kind of limitation on being able to complete so soon. Wheels of "chance", restricted number of elves, no premium items paying event currency.
It's not a complaint to be clear. But to me the events should be possible to complete by freemium players willing to grind a bit and premium players completing earlier depending on how many donuts they spend (not the silly 1000's to get a gold cannon).
The exception to this being the daily tasks ala Stonecutters or the Elf tunnel. Then I thought the tunnel quests were a big improvement on Stonecutters in that you could choose when to start them.
Apart from one event (guess which) I've generally liked them all. Sure there might be aspects of an event I don't (eg the cannon upgrade) but then something else counterbalances that (eg the feds which were fun). I went for Halloween 2013 for one specific factor (which was in fact a glitch fixed halfway through). Without that one factor it would be a toss up between a few.0ReganPOOP wrote:

I think Easter was the only event that EA didn't want people to finish 100%. (without spending donuts obviously)
Which is too bad because Easter had some of the best prizes in the game. Sherry Bobbins, Blocko Store, Hugs Bunny, Banana Dictatorship, Egg Council Guy, Easter Trees, Pastel Picket Fences, etc.
I disagree that EA did not want people to finish Easter. I think EA really messed up the maths of how the event would work. The basic premise works OK but they got cute with the Common/Uncommon/Gold split which messed things up. Make Pink and blue equal, no need to switch using baskets, and the event would of been much more successful.- I voted Halloween 2013 but sadly I missed stonecutters as terrible luck on wheels saw me quitting in disgust after Christmas 2013 and Valentine's 2014. That same ridiculous luck is why I didn't like Halloween 2014 as I ended up with loads of two ingredients but barely any of the rest and missed a lot of prizes.
- More people have voted Easter over Christmas.
Well this poll is interesting.
Only found this thread to bump it as was not on the first page. - I don't see why people think Stonecutters was the best event. Yes, it was a good event that introduced cool features but the prizes weren't anything special. Most of them were skins that, based on my poll I did a few months ago, most people don't even use anymore. Halloween 2013 was the best in my eyes. Now THAT had cool prizes.

Mechanics are important.
(Seems like I've said that before  )0ReganPOOP wrote:
My only problem with the Stonecutters event was the very last prize you receive. You get this giant monstrosity (Satan's Anvil) that doesn't really fit anywhere in your town. Plus it doesn't give out a multiplier.
It was also from a totally different episode of the show. I think they just wanted an excuse to release it.
I like my Satan's Anvil, though. I think it fits, here.neuroheart wrote:

It looks really cool too. Very Lion King-ish in appearance. I would love to have it, but it wasn't worth the amount of donuts they wanted for it last time.mattruns84 wrote:

Charging donuts for Satan's Anvil and the King Homer Tower was kind of silly. I hope no one blew real-world cash on either of those. But as prizes? I can't complain. (Even if King Homer is currently languishing in my storage.)neuroheart wrote:

Too bad you can't give it to me. Another item I'd love to have, but not worth donuts as it doesn't do anything productive and I have tons of room. I wish they'd re-release some old event items for free for the specific holiday event (BDH, Satan's Anvil, etc.). Even if it was in-game cash. They at least gave me Kang. I would had hated to had bought him for donuts ( I would've in a second, though). Too many older/ cooler items cost donuts.
*sigh* Stonecutters... I was only about a month late. :(
