That's cool. I'm still working through the levels myself. I'm at Level 48 although I still haven't bought the Quimby Compound (which starts the level 47 quest line; I'm waiting for level 50 to be released so it drops like $250,000 in price).

A lot of it just comes down to how you want to play the game and what gives you enjoyment. Some people want to acquire a lot of land before they start building lots of stuff. Have you looked at the cost of land squares further out from the center? You'll be spending a pretty penny. Myself, I haven't bought lots of land (or water). A bunch of my buildings are fairly crowded together at the moment, but once I've completed all the quest lines I'll start saving up for more land purchases.

I think overall the game does a pretty good job of balancing out prices with your rough expected income, and increasing incrementally those prices. Things always annoyingly seem "just out of reach", but then eventually you get there and soon after you're all "that wasn't so bad."

I played fairly minimal. I didn't build out Krustyland (or even buy the shuttle) until I was forced to at level 44 or whenever. I didn't build out Squidport much until I had to. I didn't buy tons of land. I first bought buildings that came with characters (and were part of quest lines). I didn't buy many "extra" non-quest buildings (but likely will eventually). Even after you shoot your wad, so to speak, the money starts accumulating again at a quick pace, assuming you have dozens of characters and lots of buildings. I started playing in mid-October or so.
