Cast?????????!

First I know this is not in the right forum, but I was not sure which one to put it under? I know they are not that much money ($30) Google Chrome Cast I know they are cool for streaming channels,e.t.c. also read that you can stream your android, smartphone games to your TV with it also. If anyone here has one or knows some one that does could you please let me know and if so have you been able to with TSTO?
Any info would be great THANKS
  • TSTO can be cast using mirroring but the lag and poor sound quality make it a fairly unsatisfactory experience. Slightly better with an HDMI cable which avoids the lag although the sound still seems pretty lo-fi to my ears.

No lag and sound is better than the phone's speaker. No need for a cable.
  • I have one and have tried it with different apps, including this one. It really doesn't work because you are looking at your phone/tablet screen to tap things. At least that's how I play :D When looking at the game on the TV I couldn't get my hands to tap what my brain was seeing on the TV screen, it was all over the place (better have that confirm donut spending thing on) ;) Maybe I'm just not coordinated though :s

If this were like a typical video game and you had a controller to use to tap then you could look up at the TV screen and navigate around your town. I did experience some lag, but that was on a different device from a few years ago. Things could be better now. I'm sure there are games that would work flawlessly with it. It's a cheap buy though, I say go for it and give it a try. Who doesn't like a new toy to play with :)
  • I agree with 00mesmerelda00 - I've tried this too to a large screen and while I didn't find the lag terrible, it was impossible to actually play the game-- I ended up staring at my phone the whole time anyway. Might be useful if you want to show off your town to a group of people?? I don't know. For me, it's pointless.

"Hey everybody, gather round the TV and watch me play tapped out...." (Crickets) :D

We'll just file this one under - "How to lose friends quick" ;)
  • There are actually giant touch screen TVs available ($$$$$$$), but who would want one? Fingerprints all over your TV... And I doubt the touch action would translate back to the game.
