mine will go up this weekend, after Thanksgiving.

In real life we wait till Thanksgiving(which i do not celebrate ) is over (don't get me started about how cranky i get when i see other people putting stuff up before that! Day after Halloween is too darn early!) we take them down the 7th of January, the day after Epiphany (12th day of Christmas)

On the game i have Cletus' lights up year round, much like my redneck neighbors. I put out my decorations about a week after Halloween (to replace my Halloween decor) but haven't lit up my houses yet. I'll put my lights up either December 1st or if they make it snow before that.

Where in Canada are you. Because where I am a lot of people had there stupid lights up weeks ago. I have been looking at one of those jesus scenes across the street for almost a month now. :x And Yes, i am one of those people that it bothers if you put that crap up the day after halloween and don't take it down until march (my neighbours across the street are those people). But it seems to be a thing in the area I live in. WTH?

I'm with you Panopticnic. One of my neighbors has a huge winter wonderland set up in their yard. It's been there since a little after halloween. It makes me smile every time I walk my dog past it as she growls and barks at the moving decorations.

In my house we put up the tree after Thanksgiving and take it down after New Years. That's all the decorating we do.

No wonder there are so many fires caused by the dead Xms trees kept for so long.

I wish the municipalities would regulate the dates for those lights. It gets rather ridiculous!

Your real life neighbours put that stuff up right after Halloween and keep it up until March? That's a bit long! To each their own, I suppose. My decorations just went up last week and they come down in January. Most of my real life neighbours do theirs around the same time.

Just like in real life, I have some up since November 1st (just like my real life neighbor...remove Halloween put Xmas)) I even have a couple of houses with them all year long. But for most of them it will be first weekend of December.

I have one like that, it kills me, she keeps her decorations from nov 1st until Easter... I call them her easter lights :twisted:
