Deco Limit PSA - Re: Bridges

so you were actually able to go over the limit by placing the bridges correct? that screenshot saying 8817 made my heart skip haha, at first i thought itd been raised

this makes me think, what if you removed all pre-existing bridges from your town, then placed decos up to the limit (or maybe 1 item under) THEN add the bridges back in. Would this stop you building bridges at the limit? or would you be able to pass the limit again while.placing bridges?

does that make sense?

wow. this is extremely helpful. Not only do I have a lot of bridges in my designs, but I use water / bridges in all the areas I'm waiting to design!

Your town is one of the reasons my friends visits take longer these days, I find myself just looking at things having " Wow, just WOW" moments. :mrgreen:

They are really going to have to increase the limit soon. :?

Makes perfect sense. And you are absolutely correct - if I removed all the bridges and designed til I finished or hit the limit, I know I could re-add the bridges without the deco limit warning. Unfortunately, I'd be at 9000+ "objects," unable to place anything new unless I ripped the bridges again; And of course would have to do this each time a new building/decoration came out. :?

Thanks, Jeesus! I thought you were gonna say friends visits were taking longer because of load time on my town! A nice compliment when a neighbor wanders and admires the town rather than it being a "chore. :D "

OMFG, your town is AH-MAZE-ING. I kind of want to friend you just so that I can obsessively look at your SF. I thought I was decent at decorating, but DAY-UM, I bow to the master of design.

Thank you for the PSA. Due to running out of land, I actually kind of ran out of water. But ITA that the bridge effect is pretty freaking awesome looking. Since the SH expansion I keep meaning to blow up my SF and make better use of the land I do have but events keep happening. (And I blame that on TinyCo's obsession with never having any downtime in the Family Guy game. I appreciate that EA is trying to keep up, but I love Tapped Out because it does encouage the design factor)

In my premium game I'm in the process of moving the mansions over to SH. I keep hitting the warning in that game. I figure I'll just end up storing the Monorail in this one to deal.

ah good point haha, and most likely wouldn't even be able to move decos around without getting the message again when placing them.

always good to learn more about how these things work, just the fact that you technically busted over the limit without throwing the universe into further chaos gves me some hope

It's understandable the bridges count. They are memory intensive! It's why they suffer graphics fails so frequently. I've eliminated most of mine just to ease the stress they cause on my game.

You do have some cool stuff with bulk head along the water. Keep those. But you can definitely cut the excess use and save yourself some feature count.

Have you considered doing a town audit? Pulling excess trees, flowers, etc? Anywhere there's >3 of something, remove one. I did this and it helped a lot.

What i really want is an 8x8 "mixed forest" piece that takes the place of like a dozen trees.

I could suggest a lot of new pieces to increase feature efficiency...
