- I thought it was rather funny...
- Well if EA would stop releasing stuff that costs Millions or that Golden money Tower thing, people would not need to farm. Even upgrading the IRS building cost a fair wack of $.
Plus it's handy for when there are non-events and you want give the game a break, your neighbours have something to tap. - I saw that! Lol.
And then I happily tapped my sea of blue houses with my 455% multiplier. drumnman wrote:

Dzzt.
I'm freemium and never NEEDED to house farm.
It's just a choice you make when you can't handle playing at the pace set by the game. That's your impatience, not EA's pricing schedule.
I mean exactly how easy is the game supposed to be? Where is the sweet spot between you complaining that it's too expensive vs not challenging enough? - wadebearRetired HeroYou've got it backwards. This isn't a shot at house farmers, it's a shot at whoever decided to make house farming impossible.
Without house farming I would be many levels below where I am now. And would have probably given up. I just started over a little over a year ago and it's been nothing but events and new levels ever since.
I've never had any slow periods with nothing to do but cache money while I wait for some new content to drizzle its way along. It's been boom, boom, boom, buy another building, buy another even more expensive building, they want HOW MUCH for this new building so I can move along in the game?
Even WITH house farming there have been times when I had to wait several days before I had enough cash to buy the new building required to continue the quest line. 4junk3000 wrote:

Well the Skeleton Task seems to be sorting them out nicely
The game is targeted for Youngsters, so it should be something you could give a 10yo and they could work it out.
We have seen building limits in SH to stop farming, I'm sure if EA could go back in time they would do the same with Houses.
The more money you print/make available, inflation costs will increase.
The Genie is out of the bottle, the only people suffering are the poor/new players, who see House Farming as the only avenue to achieve levels in the game.
I started a test town recently... if I had to live with that town from here in on wards, I would quit after a week.- 4junk3000New Spectator

My opinion is contrary: this game, with strippers, naked dudes with only a nut on their crotch, and about 3 dozen characters with significant substance abuse issues, is DEFINITELY NOT targeted toward youngsters; and any parent giving this to a ten year old is exhibiting poor judgement. This game has significant adult themes.
As an adult playing an adult game, i have no problem being patient enough to wait for it to unfold in due course, vs taking shortcuts to accelerate events to conclusion. Why rush to the end when it's so much fun getting there? - Exactly. TSTO is not a children's game (and don't forget the encouragement to gamble inherent in the unlosable Instant Scratch-Rs).
And The Simpsons is not a children's show. - Disagree that housefarming is necessary. I'm freemium on level 56 and have 10 brown houses and 4 or 5 pink houses purely to boost my indolence (which is still only 4.5).
I don't do it because aesthetically it doesn't appeal to me. Similar with Kwik-e-mart or Krusty Burger farming. It's entirely possible to get by without it and certainly not in a way that makes the game any less enjoyable, in my opinion.
