Do you treat your characters as if they were "real"?

I give Stampy a day off every now and then. It's not right for an elephant to be cooped up all the time.

And I don't like to send characters to church unless it's Sunday.

Mostly I stick to 4, 8, or 12hr tasks for everyone, depending on my personal schedule on any given day.

There are some characters I set to specific tasks, but not really because I'm thinking they might enjoy it, but rather, because I like the animation. Fat Tony in the Hot Tub, Moog prancing around town in his 24hr task, Barney passed out in the gutter, Sea Captain telling a tale, etc.

And as far as Stampy goes, my GF and I have a ritual/running-gag whenever his 24hr task is up of saying "Hello Stampy, Bye Stampy" as we tap to release, then immediately re-tap him back to his job. Our elephants never get a break, but we chuckle at each other when we hear the other one mumbling that mantra each time it happens.

I prefer to have Stampy carrying Bart than having him locked in the house, but Bart is busy being a nutcracker right now, so Stampy is spending his time inside.
Actually, right now, most characters are inside. It's mostly so I can more easily spot feds, and partly because it's snowy out and most characters don't have a coat on.
I also prioritized buying Apu's apartment building when it came out, so he had a place to live. I felt bad about all the time he spent at the Kwik e mart. (I've worked at a convenience store.)

nope, and its kinda hard to treat them like real person, who here waits for a giant yellow sky finger to tap on them to do task?

I wish Hugo had some nice, happy quests. I've given his house flowers, some playground stuff and a bench so his grandpa will visit. Any doable nice temp quests, he's there!

OP- I'm similar. There are certain tasks I just can't do because they depress me. Can't send Kirk to 'cry in the shower'.
Never have Bernice make fun of Marge. I try to let Stampy walk around for a few days every now and then.
I have 50 million in game cash (all land and aspirationals) so it doesn't really matter what I do at this point.
