Of course one would desire to get an item you have been striving to get for a month! Duh! And I got all the whacking day prizes so this doesn't apply to me but the logic used here is a joke.
I did say, "desperately enough to spend *money*." If they didn't spend donuts, there wouldn't BE a problem.
