OK just to verify my point, comparing how long it takes to get into Other Springfield vs Brett's town...
Other SF takes 3 seconds to load. Brett's takes 38 seconds.
Imagine if all neighbors took 12x longer.
Also, his town had several rendering glitches. I took a ride on his monorail twice. The first time, short tracks were illustrates as SH potted Palm trees. The second time, curve tracks turned left were a randomized jumble.
Brett's town is "at the redline" so to speak. And anyone with a car should understand the thrill of hitting the redline but also the consequence.
So until we all can afford the "Yamaha R6 of mobile devices", i think the redline (7500 feature limit in this case) is an effective limitation.
In the meantime, Brett could thin out the redundancy of decorations in his town. He's got four trash trucks parked together when 2 could suffice; same with the pink alien clone cylinders. He's got a group of ten of them. Couldn't four serve the same design purpose? And of course thanks to the glitch he's got one of the largest monorail tracks in existence.
Which was definitely fun to ride! An awesome town, but not a typical one. So it's understandable that EA's limits don't meet his needs.
Maybe in a year when devices have evolved a bit more... We can hope!
while I may disagree with you on the need for garbage trucks and alien test tubes (especially with the garbage trucks since they are useful to cover larger areas of land so I do not have to decorate with extra items), you do make a well reasoned argument and provide important details to this discussion. I do not have any issues with rendering or loading in my town other than the occasional glitch where I get toilet paper or random heads of people.
And yes, after 4 years of playing it makes sense that I have every decoration and I am probably a small percentage of the overall player base of this game, but still, EA needs to help us out for being loyal customersForumNerds wrote:
Silly Question: I keep hearing something about riding neighbors' monorails ... does that just mean "manually swiping my screen following the track around the town" ? Or is there some mechanism when I visit a friend's town that would let me watch the screen move around for me, that follows the monorail track?
(No, I'm not that lazy. I just want to know if I'm missing some magic trick) :)
you can click on your friends station and "ride" on it just like you can in your own town- 4junk3000New SpectatorIt's players like you that are their "bread and butter". They definitely should cater to your preferences. I would.
But meanwhile they can't alienate people who would get frustrated with glitches and stop playing. It's a delicate balance i guess, because even though technology evolves pretty quick these days, we still are insatiable!
I'm just glad this game even exists. Compare it to all previous Simpsons games. Even Hit and Run Homer didn't have such autonomy. - 4junk3000New Spectator

Yes riding the monorail in Bretts town was awesome. But i like riding them in any town with a big enough loop. Hopefully this will encourage people to make bigger tracks that pass their best design features. That's how mine is!
I did notice today the Alpha/Omega transporters stopped working in neighbor towns though. Hope they restore that. - I have basically removed all nonessential decorations, i.e; trash cans, stop signs, phone booths, any deco hidden behind a building, but now it's Halloween, and I have jack-o-lanterns and scary trees to put out. Soon it will be Christmas and I have lots of Christmas decorations. I pretty much have the minimal amount of houses, ( I tried to put one in inventory the other day and lost a star) so yes- please, raise the limit already!!
- 4junk3000New Spectator1. I don't know of a way to see your item count.
2. You can tap on any station then select Ride. But i think it requires at least 7 terminal connected pieces. The train will run to the end and stop pothen reverse, no loop needed.
If any one who's posted in this thread wants to ride my train, send me a req. We can swap boarding passes! Lol - http://media.giphy.com/media/13Cu7a7YZfm2fS/giphy.gif
- As far as use of server memory goes, I'd sure love the ability to sell or delete items "stuck" in the inventory like Easter egg piles or other event items (candy canes, flower carts) that don't provide multipliers or monetary gain. My inventory needs a spring cleaning!

- Think EA should at least increase to 10000 limit. It's way overdue now
