Eggs dissapearing

Good evening to all of my fellow Springfieldians!
Has anyone else had eggs go missing?

I mean when someone gives you a lot of eggs, but they never appear on your device?

For example, a couple of weeks ago i was completing some tasks on my girlfriend's Springfield, and her town was being filled with eggs from someone else - yet when she logged in, there was nothing?

Also, this morning (last day of Whacking Day!) a friend of mine had messaged me to say he'd given me 560 eggs and sent me some pictures on Facebook to show his progress:

Getting on with my snake count, i was excited to see how far i could take it on the last day, so i headed onto Tapped Out about 10 minutes later to see this...:

I hoped they'd appear throughout the day, maybe through syncing issues or something, but nothing turned up!

As i'm sure most of you will understand, this sucks!
What the hell happened!?

Also, i'm sure i posted this already this morning. Is there any reason it would be removed!?
