I'm on my lunch break so I can't really respond as this topic deserves.
Yes.
Very much yes.
Perhaps the Krustyland event caused the game to become far too slow, what have you, but things slowed down to....this
I'm not cautiously optimistic, I'm not hopeful, or looking forward to anything.
I'm just drifting.
I'm not even playing anymore.
I visit my town sure, but it's a simple matter of wash and repeat. Click, reassign, click when done, repeat.
Not to say that it wasn't like this before as well. It was, but creativity often found a way. Those minigames, the ways we devised to extract every extra bit of event currency that we could.
The ability to visit other players town and see our neighbors town in holiday/event motif.
Was it difficult? No just aggravating.
Leveling up crafting was the biggest issue.
I hated it, I still hate it and it has no purpose other than to make an otherwise simple mechanic needlessly complicated.
Listen, previous events did have a sliding difficulty curve that become progressively easier as time went on, as the acts progressed we complained less and less.
Perhaps we don't complain as much, but that's because we're so bored we'd rather do anything else. I appreciate what they tried to do. It was new and exciting.

It's now old and stale, like the donuts they give on sale. You don't need to make something amazing every time. Mixing it up is all we really want at the moment, we'll settle for that add some of the old mechanics with the new, add a minigames or two.
This is no event.
Call it what it is, a Mini Event with extra steps.
