The Simpson house has a 45-second timer. Resetting said timer is of absolutely no benefit to your neighbor, so there are players who get annoyed by having it tapped, because it's pointless.
Right now, during the gift-card frenzy, it's all about making sure there are houses for your neighbors to tap, and the Simpson house is actually a good option because it does reset so quickly. Brown houses are also a good option for this.
So, basically, being a good neighbor around an event is all about helping your neighbors get special currencies. Right now, the best way to do that is to make sure they can tap in your town. During non-events, being a good neighbor is more about going and tapping things in other towns that are useful to their owners.

I purposely bought and placed 30 brown houses around the depot just so folks could have something quick and easy to tap. I really don't care if people tap something else. It surprises me how many folks go all through my Springfield anyway looking for something else to tap, though. I don't mind because I like the layout of my town and am happy folks are seeing it, but I also wonder if they realize how much time they could be saving just going for the area designed for their convenience. This is especially true since I am tapping most of the high payout buildings when I see them up to pay for the land and buildings I laid down special for this event. :-)

Anyway - tap whatever you like is my philosophy. I am just happy to have folks come visit.

I dont care what they do in my town.... it's nice to get a gift tho

I've been visiting neighbors daily except for the time or two I needed to roll over the visits to the next day due to the lateness of the invite timer and I've been tapping anything that i can find when i cant find high priced buildings to tap
and so far I haven't had any complaints thus far.

My biggest problems have been how to distribute the gifts evenly given the low number of them (I currently have only 10 gift bags and 11 people on today's gift list) and being able to read the players name since its white text on a white background.

I login regularly to clear tapped places and I've added a dozen brown houses for people to tap if they want to or cant find anything else - its on the east side of the map by cletus' farm

For the Christmas event, I am only tapping in my own town what others have tapped. Therefore, in theory, everything is available. Would I prefer they tap the Burns manor or the prison sure but I am not expecting anything from them for the duration so tap on

I actually go all around towns to check them out, things change so rapidly I like to give my neighbors some genuine interest. But my clicks usually consist of defacing buildings and the lemon tree. I love that little thing even in the winter!!

Newbies I always go to moes, the Simpsons residence, and then I become a lemon. Drunk, stumbling home to be a lemon.

It really does my head in when people dont tap what i want them to tap. Before the event i dropped so many friends that didnt tap my tile studio and farm. Recently ive been unfriending those that visit my sf but dont drop gift bags. Yesterday i wanted friends to tap my white house KEM and gilded truffle but some of them had the nerve to only tap two of them! Today i couldnt be bothered to tap anything yet some people still visited and dropped presents. Got rid of them. Add me polmac 42. I currently have 100 neighbours but im sure ill have some vacancies tomorrow when friends dont tap my krustyland entrance ufo and eric cartmans house. How people can sleep at night. Grrrrrrrrr!
