- Someone explain what it means if someone taps the Simpsons house....I'm sooo confused right now.
- I'm new to the forum and don't understand the difference between "good taps" and "bad taps". I don't know why tapping the simpsons house is bad. I don't know why you should tap on a building that is high in reward instead of any other building. What glitches? I just don't get it. I want to be a good neighbor. Please, someone shed some light.

I will delete friends who consistently spray graffiti all over my town
Why? Graffiti is actually a good thing.- I am in the same position as many here, will someone please explain the difference between a good neighborly tap and a bad one.
For example, if I go to a neighbors town and tap the Simpsons House, and other houses, does the house still appear tappable to other visitors?
I know the owner will have a friend "handshake" icon in their town, so do they have to clear the friend handshake before it becomes available to others?
Also, if I tap a high value house as a visitor, I get the same as a brown house as a reward, what does the town owner get more than if they just collected the $ sign above it?
I get the Tile bonus and have been farming that for a while, hence I leave a handshake in my town above squidport to allow others to gain the EXP bonus and for me to get an extra tile without having to wait. Do the Studio and Farm stack in the same way?
Thanks in advance - It was interesting to read the comments from this thread.......but there was a reason behind me posting it and running the Poll.
This is a game and as such most players understandably....and should....play for their own advancement and after that help others when they can.
I do try to help others within reason, but as most agree...during an event...it is about collecting the event currency (i.e. Goo, Gift Cards, etc...) and dropping items in your neighbor's towns (i.e. gremlins, gift bags, Easter Eggs, etc...
But as I said there was reason for this whole discussion....I actually got a message via the forums saying that I tapped on their least profitable houses in their town and cost them Thousands of $$ and to please tap on the items they wanted me to tap on. - I don't care. At all. Holiday event or not. Just appreciative of the visits.
- deleted....duplicate post.....see the next one....

You pretty much got it. Basically your taps pays you the same no matter what you tap....but can make a HUGE profit difference for your neighbor. Here are some of the best ways you (or your neighbor's) profit most from visitors:

BEST TAPS- The Glitches: These are items that multiple visitors can tap on and the taps accumilate in a stack of handshakes so they can get multiple payouts, one for each handshake. This includes the Port Tile, The Farm Crop, The Stage, and News 6. So if you took the time to grow Corn (90 days to grow) you will get $45,000 for each handshake.
Long Time To Pay Building / High Pay Buildings: When you tap on a building you reset the timer for the that building for its next payout. So if a building paid out every 24 hours, and you tapped on it at 1pm the clock resets. Then if your neighbor didn't tap on it until noon the next day, since you reset their building's clock, they it will pay out 1 hour later at 1pm instead of another 24 horus after your nieghbor tapped on it.
NOT AS GOOD TAPS
Since tapping on a nieghbor's building reset's the pay out clock for that building, if you tapped on the Simpson's House you only reset a 2 or 3 min payout clock that only pays out a few bucks. Not much benefit for your nieghbor. These include Simpson's House, Flanders, Brown Houses, etc...
EVENT TAPS
Now when an event comes the visitor gets the event currency (i.e. goo, gift cards, easter egs, etc..) for "Most" of their taps. But the glitches and some highpay out or long pay clock buildings do not pay the event currency. For example the Stage, News 6, IceSkating Rink, Shopping Mall, etc... do not pay any gift cards. So most visitors would rather tap on low paying buildings for the neighbor so you can get the event currency....even if this means tapping the least profitable for your neighbor...the Simpson's house.miiszade wrote:
I personally agree 100%. In fact because, even though I appreciate if they tap my glitches, I am in my town so much that I know it is hard to find something to tap...so I even bought a chunck of brown houses so even if I tapped everything in my town 5 min ago any visitors will still have something to tap for their time.

I just hope they enjoyed looking at and exploring my town.- Although I would be appreciative of ANY visit from a game friend, there is no denying that certain taps would be much more beneficial to me. I especially want them to tap on my farm of ripe corn and my SP tile. But, I do try to make it easier for my neighbors to see what I would prefer tapped. Like my farm is always very close to the landing screen surrounded by trashcans and a very large arrow made of pylons directed at it. I do not think I could spell it out any better than that.
I would LOVE to be able to communicate a little better with my neighbors through the simple use of some large signs or even billboards I could buy. Editable billboards would be cool and very realistic to a town and you could leave whatever small message you wanted for your neighbors too. Like: "Thanks for stopping by! Please tap my farm and my SP tile" or "Please do not leave graffiti!" It could be your landing screen and then you could place the structures you wanted tapped close to it. It would just make it easier for everyone all around.
