I actually don't really like this idea especially since no one would really use it and it kind of defeats the purpose of the game. I mean I don't think anyone would give doughnuts and even cash for that matter because they will always be new content coming. In fact I would only give cash if I knew the person in real life and I would never give doughnuts. Also as for items people could get limited edition items for events that they weren't there for which is unfair. The point of the game is grow your town and to see your friends towns grow as well. What I would really like to see is the ability to leave comments on other peoples towns.
How would no one use it? Have you conducted market research to prove this? It's highly likely it would actually be used, and I know this through interest expressed in previous threads.
What about people with tens of millions who wants to help someone with only a few hundred thousand, I'm sure they would be happy to give some money out. I'm sure people would give dounuts but here's the problem. Player Y has 5 alt accounts. In an event 20 doughnuts are given out. Player Y accepts all the doughnuts on each alt account, then gifts them over to the main account. Player Y has now unfairly abused the system, gaining 100 free donuts. It wouldn't be tough to grind the doughnuts needed for a few buildings. Ea frankly doesn't care about whether someone having a limited time building is fair, they regularly sell them again at a later point (e.g yard sales, Independence Day etc) frankly it's a game and you must remember that.
Personally I like the idea, but it needs to be carefully regulated which I don't think ea is willing or capable or doing, therefore it is likely we get this as a feature. However I do like the idea of commenting.
