777.777 or 777,7000?
LPN is European thus a period instead of a comma.
It's seven hundred and seventy seven thousand and seven hundred and seventy seven dollars.
Is this something to do with the exchange rate due to Brexit?... and British people use commas instead of full stops as well... 777,777
No wonder we voted leave... pfft...
Yes...in our notation too the period comes between the full units of currency and the fractional ones - ie. Dollars.Cents
I always forget this between trips and it throws me off a bit when I see it again. But it's like driving on the other side...you adjust pretty quickly after you get honked at for looking the wrong way while crossing ?!
Well we use a period for that, £12.56 etc, it's just any whole numbers higher than 999 then we start using commas..
And at the risk of completely derailing the topic...
That was almost my downfall at Disneyland Paris.... I was outside the park round the hotels area on the big ring road, went to cross the road near a roundabout and looked for traffic coming off it when I should've been looking the other way, was about to step out when something whizzed past me at very close range.... that was scary... in my defence I flew to the airport and got transport over, then we would walk on the internal pathways to the parks, so that and a day trip to Paris were my only experiences of traffic...
Hmm.... erm..
So I guess I owed it to God to purchase him for my game as a thank you for watching over me that day...
Yes!!.. made this post relevant to the thread... :joy:
Hmm! At least the Brits were kind enough to give me a horn blast. Hats off to them!
Oh and about the commas over 1,000. Yes, that we do as well. I was going to say I don't think I ever purchased anything over a couple hundred overseas but then I remembered I was in Czechia paying for things in kroner recently, as well as the Hungarian forint...exchange rate is quite a bit different there.
