Has in game cash lost its value?
You still need cash. The family practice building cost me $160,500 and I believe the hospital is around $193,000, so I'm putting off on buying land for now.

I had 273,000 saved before the update and when I saw that was not much to buy with cash I spent most of it buying land.
But then I discovered the Hibbert care centre and the general Hospital at quite a cost, the quest has already started for me to build the care centre at $160,500 and I'm well below this mark to purchase.
