People have moaned about the format of all events since, er, Stonecutters.
It's too hard, so you get 4hr grinds.
It's too easy, so you get several acts forcing players to wait until the next bit is live.
All the event formats are the same and that damn wheel is bad, so you get crafting or currency type events.
Then - *possibly - having to adapt new events/increased graphics for the oldest supported device...
May not be as good as it once was, but given the feedback and changes they have implemented it's no surprise.
I am not going to defend them, because they need to raise the item limit RIGHT NOW and probably release more land for others, but the changes in the events seem to be an attempt to discover a balance to suit those who finish the acts early and those who can't devote loads of time to the game, those who want certain items and those who want all of the items.
Finding the ideal format would appear to be an impossible task. Although increasing the item limit RIGHT NOW which would make the game immediately better.
I think there should be an 8 hour option along with the 4 hour grinds to earn double the currency for overnight tasks or when you can't log in during the day. I wasn't a fan of crafting because it was difficult to get all the crafting items without spending donuts on extra currency and there was 2 events which I had the premiums and I still couldn't craft the final prize (looking at you Homer's Dream House and Mermaid Petting Zoo). Getting multiples of the crafting items for later designs was also difficult without spending donuts. I believe the mystery boxes have replaced the wheels now.
If we go 53 more days (February 27th) without an item limit increase then it would have been a whole year without an increase since the last one was in the State of Despair event.
I am happy with the content and the writing in the game along with the fact that it is still going after 7 years.- it's lost its mojo since xmas 2018
- lucienleon519Rising RookieMy characters are just wondering about town now, with a few set to favourite visual tasks.
I freed up my item limit by storing half my multiplier items, and made some finishing touches to my town.
Sometimes I like to discover character tasks I’ve overlooked, but there really is nothing for me to do in this game except wait for the next event. - Rhinomix76Seasoned Newcomer

Eewww, you're one of those are you, well you're not coming round my 'ouse. :) ;) :)- I do not know if Tapped Out lost its Mojo or if the players did. I used to fiend for level updates, I would tap at red lights, I would wake up at 3am to make sure I completed the events. It was life ruining fun.
Now, for me at least, I still tap but my enthusiasm has drastically changed. But that's the way it is with all walks of life, people change, things change. Maybe it is the boring structure which EA has put into place for this game for the last 18 months or so or maybe it is just me. - sideshowdan9Seasoned Rookie

This is my real problem, sure no perfect format exists, but you can mix and match...it's not perfect but it's better than what we have now.
My point was that they have adapted the game over time. Probably will again, if they remember. So, yeah, fishsticks 3x a day until something changes. Complaints have worked in the past. Or it's a coincidence.
They found it difficult to remember to code snow on all the items this time though, so don't count on something as complex as a 4-act event with different mechanisms. Adding in something like that sounds like a lot of time that, if they can't even add snow to some things in a winter event where there is already snow, they probably won't find. I feel like we should have moved to Capital City by now for its lux lifestyle and the distancing from Shelbyville.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZTZ-jm2XB4- I don't know why EA has gone from one extreme to the other.
Major events weren't so much hard but near impossible to mini's which are too easy.
With major's I would tend to get up in the night, especially as I couldn't do anything during the day as I was at work, and they would not introduce 8hr or 12hr tasks, albeit with a lesser Event Currency payout, like with IGC.
But with mini's the collections are at 50 or 100, by comparison the major's would have been 300 or 400.
Though I cannot remember what amounts we had to collect, this is just a comparison, if mini's were as hard as major's then instead of 50 or 100 and thinking "This is easy", they would be higher and we would think "How on earth am I going to collect that",
Couple that with crafting, which I enjoyed, I liked making the stuff I wanted, but NOT, having to buy something I didn't want to level up.
Why could I not level up after buying the stuff I wanted???
And why did they make stupid changes, such as, in Daily Challenges where you could get 4,000 EC for completing a task but in Moe's Ark we only got 400 EC.
That was just plain cruel especially as I felt Moe's Ark was the best event since Rigellian Christmas 2017 which is when I started playing.
Though I play and will continue to do so right up until they switch the game off.
I login at least once a day, would do at least 6 times or more if chances permitting, been slowly building up my donuts to about 900 with Recycling, Maggie's Game, DC's, Sideshow You and the odd level up, which really does take that long as my bonus is only 308%, I'm level 198, and I don't binge on Jet Bikes or stuff, I got about 15 Tennis Courts from SFH resources and that was my most extravagant purchase.
IGC is about 18.7 million, I collect about 3m+ every week in taxes and wages, hence why I login so often, $1,000 to $20,000 on average every time I login... well it's going to build up eventually, may take $600,000 to find 2x 3 donuts from Maggie's Game each week, and buy 1 land tile every weekend, at the moment $3m which does help my balance slowly ever so slowly increase, so when I get the chance, or when I remember, to set Twerlinger on Road To Riches.
I like getting properties and characters because they help add to the IGC, so I take whatever I can get... and that add to designing as well... but it could be a bit more interesting though.
If EA wanted to know what we want as well as reading or listening, they could always just ask, I'm sure there are plenty of people here who have some ideas of their own, and as players, their ideas would be, I'm sure, be more in line with other player's wavelengths than some of EA staff's ideas.
