haunt squidport...STOP the "unhaunters"

I didn't know about the double-haunting penalty in the beginning and did do it a few times before I found out. They really need to make things like this known when major holiday updates come out. The last thing I want to be doing is cheating my neighbors out of something! I avoid double-haunting by going to the outskirts of towns that have a lot of haunted buildings before I begin haunting. It's obvious that some people are haunting buildings that appear when their neighbor's town opens up and are not visiting other areas of the towns. I have favorite buildings I like to haunt, so I try to avoid haunting the same buildings.

I admit that I was guilty of this heinous crime at first, thinking I had stumbled across a glitch until I read about it here, thank you forum. Now I make sure I find obscure buildings to haunt.

I always start at the Squidport. If there's anywhere that seems to be untapped/not-yet-haunted -- and this is true of almost all on my friends' list -- it is the squidport.

I have no idea why people don't like or bother to tap there. Maybe they just pop into the center of town and get back out as quickly as possible. But yeah, SP is just about always the best place to tap, for me.

Every Squidport I visit is never haunted so I'll drop a haunt here and there. The most people I've ever double haunted are those with huge house farms where stupidly the few places left to haunt are stuck in the midst of all the already haunted house farms and it only takes one accidental tap and that's it.
In all honesty though if you think about it, EA added this ability in, it's not against game rules to do it, it us others that decide it's not right to do. I personally try my best to avoid double haunting a but I'm just saying, EA has put it in so it's down to the individual to make the choice.

As far as Gremlins go, I too just drop them randomly, not because of mistakes made.

I'm sure I've had an accidental double-tap here and there, though most of the time my friends don't have a ton of pre-haunted buildings. But, I just drop the gremlins to friends who have visited them upon me, or someone who looks like they need the goo, etc. Sometimes is just whatever the first town I can get into that doesn't have 10 already running around.

A lot of times houses are stacked on top of each other and it is hard to tell which one of them is already haunted.

The bottom line is there are so many requests for friends that I try to keep the friends who play like me, nice town, visit and don't mind a tag on their house... and play fair. If you don't like my way of playing the game or don't like the way I play the game, like in real life I don't have to be your friend and you don't have to be mine. I won't hate you but you will not stay in my friends list. :wink:

the trouble is no matter what you do someone else may come and double haunt the building you haunted then your friend won't know if it was you or not.
