Or you could put 3-6 brown houses somewhere and leave them for the coin fiends.
It's not enough. 3 houses is good for 1 visitor to get 3 coins. If you've got 80 friends (and you don't like farming), you need to leave them untapped (to be good to your friends).
Also, if you don't log on for an hour, the brown houses won't be available since they were clicked by other friends.- Yes they will... :P
Whenever someone taps it the timer resets
So if someone taps a brown house and leaves, 5 mins later someone else shows up and they can tap that brown house.
Otherwise why would the Simpson House regenerate for one player every 45 secs? - Simpsons house has a turnaround of 45 seconds. You go to a friends town no available houses to tap, tap the Simpsons house. You can either wait the 45 seconds or go to next friends town to tap and by the time your done Simpson house has the dollar sign again.
- Wait, so you're saying that if I haven't been online in an hour, and there's a handshake on a brown house, it's possible that 12 different friends have clicked it? That's a relief.
But then why do some friends have lots of houses with no coins, even when I log out and back in many times in a half hour? It doesn't seem like those houses have reset and it can be very frustrating. cuttyshark69 wrote:
Because the are online tapping like mad :D
Which was my point. :) Rather than tapping like mad, maybe help your friends get more Santa coins instead? :)- Buildings and land still costs in-game currency, so non-house farmers, as you've mentioned, may not be in the position to not tap any of their income-generating homes. Plunking down 3 extra brown houses as noted, along with the Simpsons, Flanders, and Van Houten homes should be more than sufficient to be a good neighbor. Ask them not to tap the extra brown houses and Simpson mansion.
{edit} or delete and add new as many here say they are doing! :) Nine9Nines wrote:
If you can't find coins on any houses, just go wait by the Simpsons house. Within 45 seconds, you'll be able to collect from it, and then in another 45 seconds you'll be able to collect from it again.
Wait 45 seconds? Times 3?! Is that even possible?!
Thanks for the tip! I'm still gonna leave mine untapped, though, in case my friends are as obsessed and impatient as me, and hopefully they'll reciprocate. :)sonny1618 wrote:
If I refrain from tapping on the more expensive houses (all my houses are decorated) then they might not be tapped by a friend for hours and I'd be missing out on collecting tax far longer than normal, even though there'll be coin-houses available to visitors anyway. On the other hand, even if I collect from all the quick-generating houses like the browns they'll be ready again soon for any who stops by.
This is a good point. I always clear the expensive houses immediately. It's the brown houses I leave untapped. I've got about 12 of them (which I pulled out of storage for the Santa coins spread out since I don't like farms). Does it mean I'm obsessed with trying to impress my friends? lol- If you come across a friend that only has one or two houses decorated, you can wait 45 seconds for the simpsons house to regenerate a new coin to tap. In those cases I'd just vandalize a random building to help their righteousness rating.

THIS, especially for some of us out there that still haven't put decorations on their brown houses! It blows my mind that this is still the case for some towns.
